Cross-border behavior? We want to prevent that.

"What is happening in the area of transgressive behavior in the music sector and how do we tackle this problem at its root?"

In early 2022, the music sector was confronted with stories of inappropriate behavior. The BOOS broadcast of "This is The Voice" was followed by an open letter from three singers to the sector, which further intensified the controversy. Anne de Jong, director of NVPI, took action and appointed two experts, Janice Deul and Eske van Egerschot, as project leaders to conduct a qualitative study within the music sector. The central questions: what is happening in the area of inappropriate behavior and who is willing to participate in tackling the root cause of the problem?

This research resulted in the establishment of Taskforce GO!, which includes representatives from BumaStemra, Sena, MMF, STOMP, BAM! Popauteurs, NMUV, NVPI, Ntb/Kunstenbond, Kunstenbond, VNPF, Warner Music, and VCTN. This collaboration resulted in the creation of a code of conduct that everyone can apply in the workplace. Together they aim to be the driving force behind structural change within the sector, in order to achieve a safe and inclusive working environment.
