We create a safe music sector together
Transgressive behavior takes many forms. Think of sexual abuse, verbal abuse, intimidation, bullying, and exclusion. However, it also includes less obvious things, such as making comments or "jokes" about someone's appearance, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnicity. Seemingly harmless, these can be just as hurtful. If you are a victim or witness to this, or if something else happens that makes you feel uncomfortable, talk about it! You can do this with the person in question, your manager, and your HR professional, or contact a hotline or confidential counselor. Silence never helps, but talking often does. Each of us can make a difference.
The code of conduct
We've all been taught certain etiquette at home. Rules necessary to create and maintain a livable personal environment. Within our music industry, too, written and unwritten etiquette applies, contributing to a safe and inclusive work environment. We've summarized the most important points in our six-rule code of conduct to combat inappropriate behavior. Consider the code of conduct a tool that encourages critical reflection and offers guidance for creating a future-proof and safe industry together.

Speak to each other
I treat everyone equally, regardless of sex, gender expression, skin color, age, social, regional, or cultural background, education level, body type, ability, or other personal characteristic.

Diversity and inclusion
I am aware that diversity and inclusion are among the core values of our sector.

Safe and valued
I strive to contribute to a working environment in which everyone feels safe and valued, and in which everyone's qualities and talents can be optimally utilized.

Open and transparent
I realize that I must and can contribute to an open and transparent working environment and I do my best to be an ally for anyone who struggles with feelings of insecurity.

No discrimination
I will not engage in any form of physical and/or verbal harassment, including unwanted or uninvited behavior of a sexual or discriminatory nature, that makes anyone feel offended, humiliated, or intimidated.

Equal treatment
If I notice that a colleague, relative or bystander is a victim of inappropriate behavior, I will not leave it undiscussed.
The code of conduct "We create a safe music sector together" was developed by Taskforce GO!, a broad representation of organizations and professionals in the music sector, with a common goal: creating a safe (work)space and combating unacceptable behavior. This goal applies to everyone working in the sector, music consumers, and other stakeholders.

We've also made these codes of conduct available as PDFs, so you can print them and hang them in the office, studio, or other places where they can be helpful.
Support and advice point Mores
The harrowing stories that emerged in 2022 immediately highlighted the importance of providing accessible support to victims of inappropriate behavior. The Mores Support and Advice Center was already the designated resource for segments of the cultural and creative sector. Therefore, after careful deliberation and intensive discussions with Mores and their confidential advisors about customized solutions and diversity, Taskforce GO! decided to join this initiative as a cluster.
Mores has recently made significant strides in expansion and professionalization. Diversity among their confidential advisors is one of the priorities they are working hard to achieve.

Who is Mores there for?
Do you work in the sector or are you studying for one? Have you experienced (or are you experiencing) inappropriate behavior? Are you unable or unwilling to contact a confidential counselor in your own organization? Then contact one of the Mores confidential counselors via WhatsApp or email. You can find their contact information here.

Mores' confidants work independently, in absolute confidentiality, and are bound by a duty of confidentiality.
